The 'RJ Reynolds High School Alumni and Friends' organization is in the process of raising funds to create an endowment with the Winston-Sallem Foundation. That requires a minimum investment of $25,000.  An endowment will allow us to FOREVER award $1,000 scholarships and give $1,000 to the staff person (selected by their peers) as the RJR Teacher of the Year (once we have enough funds in the endowment to yearly disburse that amount of funds).  In order to help this endeavor be successful, we have come up with a new way for YOU to leave a prominent permanent marker at RJR:  we are offering you the ability to have personalized engraved brick that will be PERMANENTLYY adhered to the base of one of the two flagpoles in front of the Auditorium.

As can be seen from the above and below pictures:  the bases of the flagpoles are black.

The engraved bricks are 8 inches wide and 4 inches tall.  They will look like those pictured below.

    bricks to be engraved

Forty bricks will be adhered to each of the 4 sides of the 2 flagpole bases. You can determine which flagpole you want your brick to be adhered to (i.e., the one on the right that has the U.S. flag, or the one on the left that has the N.C. flag). Each brick will have 3 lines of text, with each line being up to 20 characters in length. (ALL letters will be capitalized). The cost of an engraved brick (which will be PERMANENTLY adhered to the flagpole base) is a $500 tax deductible donation.  You can order as many bricks as you wish. You can honor yourself with one of these, or honor someone else...or possibly honor your graduating class.  Alumni President Harry Corpening has ordered 2 bricks (and there will be one brick on each flagpole base).  His engraved bricks will read:

    engraved bricks

The ordering of engraved bricks will be done on a first come-first served basis. We will place orders for the engraving of the bricks in lots of 50....and it could take 8-10 weeks for the engraved bricks to be delivered to us. There are two ways you can make your donation for your brick(s):  either on-line with a credit card via Paypal, or by mailing us a check.  To use Paypal to make your donation, click here ( * ). Once your donation has been completed with Paypal, you will be directed to a website that will tell you how to inform us what you want the 3 lines of text to be for the brick(s) you wanted, and where you want your brick(s) placed. If you are making your donation by mailing us a check: a) make the check out to "RJR Alumni  b) mail it to P.O. Box 26172 * Winston-Salem, NC 27114 c) tell us what you want on the 3 lines of text for each brick you made a donation for d) tell us what flagpole you want your brick(s) to be adhered to.
