• Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Exceptional Children Department has created a team of behavioral support leaders to provide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to schools throughout the district. PBIS is a framework for assisting school personnel in using evidence-based behavioral interventions and curricula that enhance academic and social behavior outcomes for all students.

PBIS is a prevention-oriented way for school personnel to (a) organize evidence-based practices, (b) improve their implementation of those practices, and (c) maximize academic and social behavior outcomes for students. PBIS supports the success of ALL students.
