AUGUST 29, 2017 – Monday was the first day for students at North Hills Elementary. Men from throughout the community were there to welcome them.
Men belonging to the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity were there, along with community volunteers and members of staff members' families.
“It was great!” said Principal Tiffany Krafft.
“Faculty from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro heard about our call for volunteers and came out to start a new partnership.”
“It was great for our students and staff to see so many men come to support us. Students and their families walked through tunnels of volunteers giving high-fives, handshakes, and shouting words of encouragement.”
“The men told the students we'd been waiting for them all summer, and that's true!”
