FEBRUARY 11, 2020 – Walkertown Elementary would like to share with you a story of how our fathers at Walkertown Elementary came out in record numbers to show their love and support for their daughters at our first-ever Father/Daughter Dance.

The dance was held on Friday Feb. 7. Students in kindergarten through second grade danced the night away with their fathers, as our Instructional Facilitator Larae Smith worked as a DJ spinning all the tunes that kept our fathers and daughters on the dance floor.

Our fabulous principal Dr. Trina Bethea and Assistant Principal Kimberely Cloud acted as a host serving cookies and drinks to our youngest and brightest guests. In addition to the delicious snacks and drinks, students and fathers were able to engage in fun coloring stations and picture-taking all with the help and support of Walkertown Elementary teachers and staff who volunteered to  make this event such a wonderful experience.

We would like to send a huge thank you to Daisy A’ Day in Winston-Salem for their generous donation of over 100 Carnation flowers, that were given to our daughters by their fathers. Lastly, we would like to thank Peaches & Cream Event Planning for transforming our gym into a beautiful night of elegance for both our fathers and daughters.
