SEPTEMBER 13, 2021 – Lewisville Middle School’s library collection was installed on Thursday Sept. 9.
In a matter of five hours, the library shelves went from bare to full!
The books were intentionally selected with diverse representation of characters so all students have windows into other experiences and mirrors to see themselves reflected in the stories. The library fiction section is organized with various genres located together on shelves, much like a bookstore.
This allows students ease of access to favorite genres such as Sports fiction, Mystery, Romance and more. There is also a great collection of graphic novels, which are highly popular with middle school students.
Along with lots of fiction titles, there is an impressive collection of nonfiction books to entice middle schoolers as well as support curriculum.
Rebecca Montes de Oca, the Lewisville Middle School Media Coordinator, will continue to build this collection to meet the needs of her school.
Students and staff will have access to these materials beginning on Monday, September 13.
