Many parents were also there.
Sponsored by the City of Winston-Salem and by Forsyth County, the 9/11 Public Safety Challenge was a way to honor those lost on 9/11 while encouraging JROTC participants to consider careers in public service.
Chorus students at Reagan sand the National Anthem. After the opening ceremony, JROTC students competed in a series of challenges, including marksmanship and close order drills.
