Early College Kicks Off Graduation Season
Early College of Forsyth County seniors were the first in the county to graduate this spring with a ceremony at Deaton-Thompson Stadium this morning.
The 54 seniors in the Early College program not only secured their high school diplomas, but also all earned their associate’s degrees with over 3,000 hours of college course credit between them. In addition to celebrating the incredible work that these students have put in, the school was also celebrating graduating its 10th senior class since being founded in the 2011-12 school year. The keynote speaker for the ceremony, Mario Castro, was the senior class president of that first Early College class, and he encouraged the students to use their unique experiences at the school and beyond to make the kind of impact on the world that only they can.
“Remember to always be uniquely you,” Castro said. “Never let the pressures of society stop you from being yourself.”
Congratulations to the graduates of Early College of Forsyth County, and to many more graduates whose ceremonies are coming up soon!
