WS/FCS Board of Education Solidifies Return Dates for Pre-K through 1 and Some EC Students
October 27, 2020 - The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Board of Education has voted to make changes to the proposed phased re-entry plan. The changes solidify return dates for Pre-K through first grade. All other grades will continue to learn virtually pending further discussion.
Students with disabilities in Exceptional Children (EC) separate setting, those assigned to EC programs (i.e. visually impaired, hearing impaired, MAP, behavior) and students on the Occupational Course of Study along with all Pre-K students will return on November 2.
Kindergarteners will return on November 9. First graders will begin in-person instruction on November 16.
The Board of Education will meet on November 17 to reevaluate a potential return date for grades 2 through 12.
The district will communicate specific details to families and staff on Wednesday.
