A Thanksgiving Message from Interim Superintendent Tricia McManus

November 24, 2020 - WS/FCS Interim Superintendent Tricia McManus is sharing some well wishes and thoughts for WS/FCS students, families, and staff as the Thanksgiving holiday approaches.  Read the message below or watch the video.

Hello WS/FCS students, families, and staff,

As we head into the holiday weekend, I want to first say how thankful I am for each of you.  As a community and a district, we have so much to be thankful for.

Our incredible staff has been working tirelessly in these challenging times.  Our fearless parents have stood by our side and fought for what is best for our children. Our community has become partners and allies in our work like never before.  And to our students, although they have missed friends and some defining and memorable moments that come from being in school, they keep trying. They keep learning and they keep us focused on what is most important and that is their success.

As you prepare for holiday moments, I ask that you please help our students and staff can return safely to school. Please be sure to keep your gatherings small, practice social distancing, wear your mask, and wash your hands.  Together and if we work hard, we can slow the spread of COVID-19 so that all of our students can return as soon as possible.

I want our students back in school.  I want our students thriving, growing, and laughing together. I want them reading and learning, but we must all commit to doing our part to celebrate and gather safely.

As we move into December the majority of our students will still be learning remotely.  Parents, please help keep your children stay active and engaged in the learning process.

Teachers and staff please continue finding creative and innovative ways to reach every student and harness their potential despite the challenges of remote learning.

Today, though it is a holiday season like one I’ve ever experienced, I am truly thankful. Please enjoy time away from the screen, enjoy your family and find some love, light, and laughter this Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone,

Tricia McManus - WS/FCS Interim Superintendent
