8th Grade students have been studying biotechnology in class. This means that they have been focusing on many areas of science that have been impacted by technology, including GMOs, Vaccines, and Medical technology.
One part of this unit is talking about forensic science, so we were fortunate enough to be visited on December 9th by Sara Hauer from the North Carolina State Crime Lab.
Students were excited to learn about how multiple light sources can reveal evidence, fingerprinting, and the many careers available in the forensic sciences. They asked many interesting questions and finished the day by getting a chance to examine their own fingerprints and identify which type of patterns they have.
