Summer 5JUNE 1, 2021 – Those interested in working for Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools are invited to attend the Summer Virtual “Just in Time” Career Fair on Tuesday, July 13.

WS/FCS is looking for people to fill many positions – teachers, counselors, administrators, data managers – as well as people to work in Human Resources, Facilities, Finance, Transportation, Technology, Student Services, and Instructional Services.

There will be many representatives from schools across the district participating in the Summer Career Fair, including:

North Forsyth High

Brunson Elementary

The Children’s Center

Parkland High

Konnoak Elementary

Melita Wise is the principal at North Forsyth.

“We are a Health Science themed magnet school,” Wise said.

“We are looking for strong teachers, including math and science teachers, that can help us teach the curriculum, integrate our theme, and extend students’ learning beyond the classroom.”

Jeff Faullin is the principal at Brunson.

“Our HR team is competent, collaborative and caring," Faullin said.

"They have adjusted for the pandemic and provide amazing services, such as the Recruiting sessions hosted on Brazen.”

Inspire 340 schools are also looking for teachers and other staff members.

Dr. Karen Roseboro is the Area Superintendent who works with Inspire 340 schools.

“Inspire 340 is excited about this additional Career Event opportunity to engage with potential employees,” Roseboro said.

“We have several openings and are hoping to have every position filled prior to the start of the school year.”

“Thank you to the HR team for the multiple opportunities to recruit and attract talented people.”

Shaterika Parks is Director of Employee Recruitment and Retention.

“The virtual career fair model was adapted out of necessity,” Parks said. “However, as a district, both WS/FCS hiring managers and candidates have grown to like the virtual career fair model.”

“To improve the experience for both hiring managers and candidates, schools now have access to video and call features that allows them to have a more traditional career fair experience.”

“The district has seen a significant increase in the number of out-of-state candidates because we have eliminated cost and time barriers.”

People can register online for the fair, which will be held from 3:00 pm – 5:00pm on Tuesday, July 13. When people register, they will fill out a profile and provide such information as their resume.

On the day of the fair, once people sign in, they will be able to visit virtual booths for each school and department.

At the school booths, they can meet with the principals at the schools where they would be interested in working. Initially, they will talk with principals by text only.

Department leaders will have virtual booths as well. Participating departments include:

World Languages

Exceptional Children

School Leadership

Human Resources

Student Services

Instructional Services

Maintenance & Facilities

Child Nutrition

Following the meet-and-greet, the booth representative can then offer to set up a video call where cameras would be turned on and the person interested in working at a school or department would talk with a representative directly.

The school system’s Human Resources department will also have a virtual Helpdesk where people can have questions answered.
