5th Grade Community Service Clean Up

Monday, September 13th, our 5th graders sought out to improve the look of our campus by doing a clean up. They walked the perimeter of the campus picking up all items of trash that had been discarded along the property and ended with an entire trash bag full.

5th grade teacher, Iesha Patterson had this to say about the experience, "We are doing various activities this week to give back to our community as we learn more about our self-identity and American identity in Social Studies."

"I felt like we really helped the school with picking up the trash and making it a better place." -D'Sean L. (Mrs. Patterson's Class)

"It felt good cleaning our community"- Kimberly G. (Ms. Chapman's Class)

"It was amazing picking up the trash because it helped keep the animals safe." Valeria S. (Ms. Chapman's Class)

5th grade will also have reading buddies with the lower grades, will be making greeting cards for a nursing home, and hosting a food drive as a larger part of their community service projects.

We are very proud of our young Panthers!
