Character Education Award Winner

Ava Jones

Character Education Award

Ava Jones, a 4th grader in Mrs. Maine’s class, was presented the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System’s Character Education Award for 2017 – 2018.

A rubric, covering seven main character traits, was used to determine winners. These character traits were considered in defining a winner: courage, caring, perseverance, self-discipline, respect, responsibility and integrity. Ava was recommended by her counselor and her teacher for displaying these traits at all times. Her parents attended the presentation and stated that “Ava shows these traits at home and we’re so proud of her!”

Ava is a member of the safety patrol and has been recognized for showing good character at school. She aspires to be a professional soccer player and practices good sportsmanship at all times.
