Jazz Cats and Percussion Ensemble give a great performance!

The Jazz Cats and Percussion Ensemble performed a high energy, entertaining, and educational performance on Thursday, November 29th.
Here is the program from the evening. Winter concert
Both groups are currently working on material for their February 7th performances. The Percussion Ensemble is close to learning a new piece already entitled "A Caveman Told Me". Katie Wall and McKayla Teauge are working on a very challenging Bach duet. Logan Barnett is working on a Trumpet solo, and Ashley Haithcock is working on a flute solo. All members of the group will be working on a new pieces next week.
The Jazz band will be celebrating the music of Duke Ellington on February 7th in conjunction with Black History month. The concert will feature charts written by Ellington, a member of his band, or made famous by his band. The band is currently rehearsing "Caravan" and "Satin Doll"
Other charts will include "Mood Indigo," "Perdido," "It don't Mean a Thing" featuring Katie Wall on Violin, and "Take the A-train"
