administration has been informed of 5 self-reported cases of COVID-19 in
individuals associated with our school. Because each case is unique, we
work closely with officials with the local health department to verify and
track each case. The Forsyth County Department of Public Health is still
working to verify the cases and determine if this will constitute as an
official cluster. We continue to await further guidance from local health
moving forward with efforts to ensure proper cleaning takes place and contact
tracing occurs to identify any potential exposures. For those reasons, Whitaker
Elementary will be closed to all students and staff (except custodial teams as
needed) until November 30. We are going to conduct extensive cleaning of the
school during this time. We ask all staff to continue working from
home. Instruction for our kindergarten and first grade students will also
be remote. We will continue in-person instruction for those students when
the building reopens on Nov. 30.
