New District Leaders

The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools Board of Education has approved principal appointments at schools throughout the district.

  • Lowanna Wade, Principal of Paisley IB Magnet School

  • Jacob Lowther, Principal of Meadowlark Middle School

  • Lisa Davis, Principal of Lewisville Middle School

All of these appointments are principals who already work for WS/FCS in the same capacity.

Lowana WadeLowanna Wade currently serves as principal of Lewisville Middle School, where she has led the school for the past two years after being promoted from assistant principal. Prior to her role at Lewisville, Ms. Wade served as assistant principal at West Forsyth High School and Piedmont Classical High School, where she also held the role of interim principal. She began her career as a health and physical education teacher and school counselor, and has held various leadership roles across both Guilford and Forsyth County schools. In 2022, she was nominated for WS/FCS Assistant Principal of the Year.

Wade holds a Master of Science in School Administration from North Carolina A&T State University, a Master’s in School Counseling from Capella University, and a Bachelor of Science in Community Health and School Health Education from East Carolina University.

Jacob LowtherJacob Lowther has spent the past 14 years as principal of Sherwood Forest Elementary School. Under Mr. Lowther’s leadership, Sherwood Forest was ranked among the top elementary schools in North Carolina by U.S. News & World Report. He began his career with WS/FCS in 2001 as a teacher at Griffith Elementary School. He was an assistant principal at Sedge Garden Elementary School from 2007 to 2010.

Mr. Lowther holds a Master of School Administration from Appalachian State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Fairmont State University. He is known for his strengths in instructional leadership, strategic planning, and fostering inclusive school cultures.

Lisa DavisLisa Davis has served as principal of Morgan Elementary School since 2023. During her tenure, she successfully reorganized the school’s AIG model to promote equity and improved the school’s performance grade from a C to a B. Prior to that, she served as assistant principal at

Lewisville Middle School and Vienna Elementary School. She began her career with WS/FCS as a teacher at Vienna in 1998.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro School Administration Program, Ms. Davis has been recognized as a Teacher of the Year, a district-level presenter, and a mentor for aspiring school leaders.

Principals will begin their new roles on July 1.
