Don Phipps Swearing In

Dr. Don Phipps is officially the new Superintendent of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools following his swearing-in ceremony on Monday morning.

Phipps is a respected North Carolina educational leader with more than two decades of experience. He has been Superintendent of Caldwell County Schools since 2018 and previously led Beaufort County Schools for more than eight years. He’s known as a steady and collaborative leader with excellent financial management skills.

Phipps takes over for outgoing Interim Superintendent Catty Moore, who just completed a six-month contract with the district.

Following his swearing in, Phipps told guests at the meeting that he is eager to work alongside the Board of Education to help the district and its students grow and succeed.

“Thank you to our Board of Education for the privilege to be able to serve,” Phipps said. “I look forward to working with folks within the system and certainly building relationships in our community. I’m ready to get busy and get to work.”

Welcome to the team, Superintendent Phipps!
