Teacher Residency Application Deadline

The application period for the WS/FCS Teacher Residency Program has been extended through Monday, March 2. When you join the program, you’ll teach in a classroom under a North Carolina Residency License while attending weekly classes with veteran teachers as you work towards full licensure. Request a Bus Stop for Fall 2026 

If your student is going into a new school next year, including students going into grades 6 and 9, or if you need a new bus stop for any other reason, make sure to call your student’s school and request a new stop. The deadline is May 8. If you need a new bus stop but don’t request one, you will not have a bus for the first day of school. Board of Education Wrap-Up

The board held an abbreviated meeting on Tuesday night to authorize continued participation in the Restart program for four schools. The rest of the business has been moved to a special called session on Thursday, March 5. Read the full story here.

School-Based Polling Sites

Traffic at 31 schools will be heavy on Tuesday, March 3, as 31 WS/FCS campuses will serve as polling places for the North Carolina 2026 primary election. Find a complete list of sites here.
