To maintain a safe learning environment, students will not be allowed to have metal beverage containers at school beginning in the 2026-27 school year.

Because these containers are rigid and heavy, they can and have been used to injure students and staff members in the past. The ban includes popular brands such as Yeti, Owala, and Stanley, as well as all other metal cups and bottles.

As an alternative, students may bring clear plastic water bottles or tumblers. Bottles and tumblers must be completely clear with no tinting.

Families should keep this policy in mind when shopping for drink containers before the start of the new school year.
