2026 Performance Data Release

WS/FCS released its annual update on school performance data on Wednesday, and the results tell an inspiring story of academic success amidst a year of hardship for the district. Read more here.

Operation Zero Exclusion

North Carolina law requires students to be up to date on their immunizations within 30 days of the start of the school year. Is your student up to date? Learn more about required immunizations and upcoming clinics here.

 

Free Eye Exams

WS/FCS is teaming up with One Sight and the Forsyth County Department of Public Health to offer free eye exams and glasses for both kids and adults. The program will be held at the Education Building at 4801 Bethania Station Rd in Winston-Salem on October 6-8 from 9 am to 5 pm. Register here.

 

Board of Education Wrap-Up

The Board of Education discussed the search for an interim superintendent, a cost sharing agreement for their data sharing project, and professional development with Safe and Civil Schools during their most recent meeting. See the full Board Wrap-Up here.

 

PE Bicycle Grants

Hundreds of WS/FCS middle schoolers will get to learn about the joys of cycling in PE this year thanks to Riding for Focus grants from Outride. Learn more about the program and the teachers bringing it to school gyms here.

 

Careers in Sports

Around 200 WS/FCS middle schoolers spent Thursday morning at the Carolina Core's stadium in High Point. There, they learned about the wide variety of career pathways that sports can offer them. See more here.
