The CTE department sent 22 students and two advisors to TSA Nationals in Nashville from June 27-July 1. We went with the NC TSA package organized by Dr. Taylor, TSA state advisor and it was as grand an experience as last year. The students spent the month of June preparing for the event and so every week I was in my classroom for a day, or two helping students prepare for their events. This year Atkins did well with the following winners:
3rd place - Senior Solar Sprint - Luis Cruz-Mondragon (Captain), Jerrin Moore, Raphael Shetata
5th place - Flight Endurance - Luis Cruz-Mondragon
8th place - Extemporaneous Speech - Moksha Agrawal
9th place - Chapter Team- Lilian Redwine (Captain), Moksha Agrawal, Allison Ko, Elsa McGalliard, Shaivi Shriyan, Jia Shah - excellent for a freshman team.
The American Cancer Society recognized Atkins as a Silver Level contributor with a 600 donation to them.
