Main Street Academy (MSA) is thrilled to announce its return to its original building after an 18-month temporary stay at St. Peter’s World Outreach. The transition marks a moment of celebration and renewal for the MSA community as staff and students reunite with their familiar halls and classrooms.
MSA’s move to St. Peter’s in mid-2023 was a part of a district-wide initiative to support neighboring schools. The MSA building temporarily housed Konnoak Middle School while their new facility was under construction. During this time, St. Peter’s World Outreach graciously opened its doors to MSA, providing a supportive and welcoming environment.
The return to MSA’s original location has been a monumental effort, requiring careful coordination and countless hours from the district's movers and the school’s dedicated personnel. Employees have worked tirelessly throughout the winter break, with many on-site daily to oversee the move. School staff collaborated to ensure the building was ready to welcome students back.
“This transition has been a true testament to the resilience and teamwork of our MSA family,” said Mr. Ronald Travis, Principal at MSA. “From the movers to the school staff, everyone has pitched in to make this move as smooth as possible. We are excited to welcome our students back to their home base.”
Due to recent inclement weather, the return has been slightly delayed, with an extended winter break for students. However, the extra time has allowed for final preparations to ensure a seamless and safe return for all.
As students and staff settle back into their newly reclaimed building, the excitement is palpable. The MSA community is eager to embark on the next chapter, cherishing the opportunities their restored home will bring.
“This is more than just a building,” Ms. Clark added, who is the Academic Coach. “It’s a symbol of our perseverance and our commitment to our students. We’re so glad to be back.”
The Main Street Academy family expresses its heartfelt gratitude to St. Peter’s World Outreach for their partnership and to everyone who made this transition possible. Welcome home, MSA!
