Notes:
• All final exams for block classes must be administered during the last five days of the semester (teacher-made and state exams). [Please note: Career Center will administer midterms during the five-day exam window.]
• Midterms for A/B classes will be administered during regular class periods: December 8 - 12, 2025.
• Exam block times are based on the maximum testing time for English II, NC Math 1, and NC Math 3 EOC assessments: four hours of testing time (plus breaks, set up, directions, etc.). The Biology EOC and the CTE exams are shorter. Schools will need to schedule lunch periods within the exam blocks.
• Exam exemptions. AR 5124 outlines that students in grades 9-12 enrolled in non-state end-of-course exam classes only, may be exempted from the final exam in a one-unit of credit semester block course, a two-unit of credit year-long block course, or a one-unit year-long course with a grade of "A" and no more than five (5) unexcused absences during the school year, a grade of "B" and no more than three (3) unexcused absences during the school year, or a grade of "C" and zero (0) unexcused absences during the school year. Please note that all school staff must adhere to the exemption procedures and cannot set forth different attendance rules for exam exemptions.
