Wow! Thank you to all the parents who came out to our Volunteer Orientation! If you were not able to come and would like to volunteer, please contact Ms. Sheppard.

Exciting things are happening in our 4th and 5th grade classrooms—where learning comes to life every day!

Great Things are happening in Ms. Martin's 3rd Grade Class. Students were partner-reading and discussing the story.

Mr. Suber accompanied Mrs. Waterman to the Fox 8 news studios in High Point, where she and others in our profession were recognized as Educator of the Week with a luncheon to honor each recipient's hard work and dedication! Fox 8 picks a teacher or administrator each week throughout the school year as a weekly winner based on nominations. One of those weeks happened to be Old Richmond's very own, Kate Waterman!

Ms. Koppenheffer's Kindergarten students are published authors! They wrote an ABC book about farm animals called "Farm Animals A-Z". We are all so proud of them!

Old Richmond students spent Tuesday morning sharing their knowledge of farming during their animal museum project.
Students dressed in farm animal costumes and presented animal facts they've learned in class to visitors. There were also booths dedicated to farm fresh foods and textiles that emphasized how important farms are to the economy. Visitors were able to buy farm animal-inspired student artwork from the museum gift shop, with proceeds going to benefit real animals at Friends of Stokes Shelter and real farmers in Western North Carolina whose farms were impacted by Hurricane Helene.
Thanks for sharing, Old Richmond!

Our students are learning about the basic needs of plants and animals in different environments. Today, they learned about different aquatic habitats! Can you tell the difference between saltwater and freshwater?

Earth Day is always a big celebration at ORES! Today was not an exception! Thank you to Ms. Mulhern and everyone else who made this day happen for our students! They learned about recycling, apple seeds, and many, many more topics.

The students reached their goal with the Penny Pile-Up Fundraiser, so Ms. Montgomery, Ms. Sheppard, and Mr. Suber had to pay up! The Kindergarten teachers were able to pie each of them in the face! The students loved it!! Thank you to everyone who participated in the Penny Pile-Up fundraiser to make this event possible for the students!

Our 3rd-5th Graders are having a blast at Field Day!

Ms. Knight's class presented their projects on "A Dog's Life"! Students made brochures, commercials, or billboards. They did a great job!

PE has been a big hit for 4th and 5th graders as Mr. Fishel has been implementing a bike unit with them! They've been learning about bike safety and have gotten to practice riding bikes for two weeks. Way to go Mr. Fishel for planning this awesome experience for our students!
