Parkland's first Saturday Academy of the school year is coming up on Saturday, September 12. Students, this is the perfect time to finish assignments, complete credit recovery, or simply catch up in your classes.
Saturday Academy will be held at the school from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. NO TRANSPORTATION will be provided. Your method of transportation must be at the school and ready for pickup by 1:00 p.m.
Students are welcome to bring food and/or snacks with them while they work.

Eleven cadets from Parkland High School’s JROTC Program proudly participated in Summer Camp Training at Fort Jackson in South Carolina!
This experience provided our cadets with opportunities to strengthen their leadership, teamwork, discipline, confidence, and communication skills while challenging themselves in a military training environment.
We are proud of our cadets for representing Parkland with Mustang Pride!

North Carolina State University Textile Exploration Program
Madina Shareef, a senior and CTE Fashion and Textile Concentrator at Parkland High School, participated in North Carolina State University’s STEP Summer Textile Exploration Program for one week. During the program, Madina gained hands-on experience using Mood Boards, 3D software, Adobe Illustrator, and 3D model sketching to design clothing. Her experience was engaging, informative, and enjoyable, providing her with valuable insight into the fashion and textile industry and helping her further explore her career interests.

WHERE Georgia Taylor Event Center, 1471 W. Clemmonsville Road
The City of Winston-Salem proposes to add sidewalk along the west side of Brewer Road from W. Clemmonsville Road to Buchanan Street and along the front of Parkland High School. The project will be funded through the Surface Transportation Block Grant, an FHWA Program. Estimated right-of-way acquisition is scheduled for fall of 2026. Construction is estimated to start in Q3/Q4 2027.Stop by this public meeting to view maps of the work area and share your thoughts as design gets underway. City staff and the project design consultant, AMT, will be available to discuss the project.
