2025 Bus Transportation Change

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools is making changes to its transportation for next school year.

Due to a need to reduce costs, the district will no longer offer bus transportation for students to attend schools outside their residential zones. WS/FCS will only offer transportation to residential schools and from magnet hubs.

Beginning in August 2025, families with students that attend school outside their residential zones must arrange their own transportation. If you are one of those families, please read on for more information.

Required Actions

· If you can arrange transportation for your child, there is no action you need to take. Your child’s school assignment will stay the same for the coming school year.

· If you are unable to arrange transportation, enroll your child in their residential school. Bus transportation will continue for students who live within residential zones. You must enroll in person and provide documentation to verify your home address. Visit your residential school in person, Monday through Wednesday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, to enroll. Online enrollment will be available after July 7, when WS/FCS goes live with Infinite Campus.

You can find your residential school and a list of documents you can use to prove your address at https://tinyurl.com/WSFCSenroll25. You must enroll by July 18 to ensure you get a residential bus stop by the first day of school.

Need help?

We want you to stay at your preferred school. If you have questions, start by talking to the staff at your current school.

If you have questions about enrollment, contact the staff at your residential school. A school phone directory is available online.
