Farewell February and Hello March!
MWF are B days, Tuesday and Thursday A days.
We are in the final stretch before Spring Break. We have concluded our basketball season for all teams. I want to say job well done to our boys and girls’ teams who did really well. We are all so proud of each of you. I also want to thank our coaches, Mr. Pizzino, our athletic director, and Mrs. Griffin, our Assistant athletic director for their care and dedication to our students. Stay tuned for our upcoming Spring Sports information.
Attention 8th grade parents! It is high school registration week! The counselors worked with your students last week on their state-required career development plan and 4-year high school plan. Students received a lot of information last week regarding high school course selection. Counselors will meet with students throughout this week to finalize high school registration. Please speak with your student about what they are registering for in high school! Any questions can be directed to Student Services.
Families, I am requesting your assistance. If your child has a tic-toc, Instagram, Facebook, or really any social media account, it is imperative that you monitor their posts, videos, and messaging.
I will also take this time to remind everyone of the cell phone WSFCS Cell Phone Policy-Middle School students are not permitted to use, display, or have visible, any wireless communication devices during the instructional day. This includes headphones and earbuds. I appreciate your support in this effort to maintain a safe learning environment.
As a reminder all students are to be picked up by 2:25 PM. All students should be off campus by 2:30 unless they are after school for a meeting or practice with an adult to supervise them.

· Thursday 3/5/26- PTA Meeting 6PM in the Media Center.- Consider joining the PTA. Call the front office for more information.

Lastly the first week of May is Teacher Appreciation Week. We really want to honor our teachers for their commitment to our students and for all the work they put in daily. If you or your business would like to donate any items for Our Teacher Appreciation Week Celebrations, please reach out to any member of the Administration team. This includes Myself, Mrs. Helms, Mr. Bailey or Ms. Coffield.

We are seeing some videos being posted that some may feel harmless but may not be liked by others who may appear in them without permission. This is occurring outside of school and we need parents and guardians to monitor what students are doing. ‼️

Join us on Tuesday, Oct 28 for our Book Fair Family Night and the PTSA Trunk or Treat! The cost is free to enter. Students must be escorted by an adult. The Book Fair will run from 4:00-6:30 and the Trunk or Treat will run from 5:30-7:30. See you there!
**UPDATE** Volleyball tryouts have been MOVED to Tuesday and Wednesday of this week! No tryouts on Mon, Oct 20.
Girls and boys volleyball tryouts will be October 20 and 21 from 2-4pm! Please be sure your required paperwork is uploaded into the online Dragonfly system prior to tryouts. Good luck!
Flag football tryouts are Monday, Sept 22 and Tuesday, Sept 23 from 2:00-4:00. All boys and girls are welcome to try out. Please have your required documents uploaded into the Dragonfly system online prior to tryouts. Good luck!

We are at 40% of our school goal for the chocolate fundraiser! Students, sell those chocolate bars and earn prizes including cash, Duke/UNC field trip, Game Truck experience, and the Silent Beats Glow Social! Deadline is September 16.
Boys soccer tryouts have been MOVED to August 26 and 27!
Orientation and Open House will be on Monday! The 6th Orientation is 1:00-3:00pm. The 7th/8th Open House is from 5:00-7:00. Student schedules can be picked up when you arrive. Hope to see you there!

Yearbook distribution next week! 8th grade, you will receive your pre-ordered books and then any 8th graders can purchase for $27 on Tuesday. 6th and 7th graders, you will receive your pre-orders on Wednesday and can also purchase for $27. Get yours while supplies last! Cash or checks are accepted.
SEMS Families: Please get your transportation updates and requests for next year completed by May 30! Rising 9th graders, you MUST complete the request in order to have a bus for next school year. Call us to make your request at 336-703-4219.
