We look forward to seeing you there!

This project brought together talented student artists who worked side by side to design and create a piece that reflects school pride, innovation, and community connection. The mural now stands as a lasting symbol of collaboration and the shared commitment to empowering students through the arts.
We extend our appreciation to the students, staff, and art educators from both schools who made this vision a reality.

Becoming Her Early is a powerful monthly empowerment experience designed especially for middle school girls. Hosted at Winston-Salem State University and presented by Superwomen Wear Scrubs, this program focuses on mentorship, interactive workshops, reflection, and community building.
Girls in grades 5th–9th will engage in meaningful conversations and hands-on activities centered on confidence, identity, self-worth, healthy relationships, and positive peer connections. Each full-day session (10:00 AM–4:00 PM) is thoughtfully themed to help participants grow, reflect, and bloom into their best selves—lunch and materials included.
Through supportive mentorship and engaging experiences, Becoming Her Early creates a safe space for girls to build emotional awareness, strengthen communication skills, and develop a strong sense of purpose for their future. 🌸

Our February testing window will take place throughout the month as outlined in the calendar above. Grade-level math check-ins are scheduled on designated days, with make-up opportunities available for students who are absent.
Please review the calendar carefully and plan accordingly to support a smooth and successful testing process for all students.

Wiley Magnet Middle School Launches First Student-Led Conferences with Success!
Wiley Magnet Middle School’s first Student-Led Conference (SLC) was a resounding success! In this innovative format, students take the lead—supported by their teachers—to present and reflect on their academic progress with their parents or guardians.
During the conference, students shared a portfolio of their work, discussed their strengths and areas for growth, and set meaningful goals for future improvement. This empowering experience not only builds confidence and communication skills but also increases student ownership of their learning journey.
We’re proud of our students for stepping up and taking charge of their progress—and grateful to our families and staff for their support in making this event such a strong beginning to a new Wiley tradition!
