Our yearbook classes have worked hard on this year's yearbook. Our goal was to get it distributed before the end of the school year. Unfortunately, we ran into some technical difficulties and were not able to meet this goal. We will receive the shipment next month. We'll reach out to you with more details on that specific return date and will provide options for you to pick up the yearbook or have it shipped to you.
If you still want to place your order, you can certainly do so!
Rest assured, we have identified strategies to have yearbooks available before the end of the school year next year.

As we wrap up the year, Atkins PTO would like to thank you all for your generous support of our school. Through monetary contributions and donating food items/gift cards to our various events throughout the year, you have helped us show up for our staff and students. They are immensely grateful! Thanks to you, our PTO had a tremendously impactful school year. We helped fill teacher requests for classroom needs, supported numerous clubs in traveling to state and national competitions to successfully represent our school, provided treats for our students and staff, and awarded $4,000 in senior scholarships. At a time when funding for schools is on the decline, we are so grateful that we are here to help bridge the gap and provide some much-needed moral support. We appreciate each and every one of you as YOU make this all possible.
To our senior families - we wish you all the best as the next chapter unfolds. To our returning families - we will see you next year. Have a wonderful and relaxing summer!
All the best,
Atkins HS PTO

Atkins High School Sophomore Madison Johnson was one of only 100 high schoolers in the nation selected for the 2026 Disney Dreamers Academy. During this multi-day event, she attended sessions with leading professionals in industries ranging from healthcare to entertainment to marketing, filmed professional video productions in Hollywood Studios, and spent time with celebrities like WNBA Star A'ja Wilson and Painter Nikkolas Smith.
An aspiring engineer, Johnson says that attending Atkins has not only boosted her skills with science and math, but also taught her to be more confident in her abilities and ambitions. Participating in Disney Dreamers Academy was an extension of that confidence, and with this once-in-a-lifetime experience under her belt, she's more determined than ever to be successful in life.
"I really feel like I brought back more confidence with me," Johnson said. "You just really have to put in the work so that you can achieve your dreams."

This year was the first time participating in the North Carolina Youth and Government Conference for sophomore Dwight Thompson.
"It was an incredible experience I will never forget."
During the conference, he presented a bill to expand and strengthen North Carolina high school arts programs. This bill mainly focused on underfunded schools, but would also benefit all North Carolina High Schools, especially Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools, because of the county's money deficits. Dwight presented this bill with two other WSFCS students, Ethan Truzy and Evan Truzy, who both attend RJ Reynolds High School. With Evan's calm demeanor under pressure and Ethan's outgoing personality, the trio took the bill from chamber to chamber all the way to the Governor's Cabinet and had it signed into Youth and Government law.
"This was an amazing experience that I would recommend to all students interested in government, and it was some of the most fun I have had in a while."
