In honor of Hispanic Heritage month we would like to recognize Judith Baca. She is an artist that brings art to where people live and work by creating large scale public murals with community participation.


Today we would like to honor John Quiñones for his achievements and contributions during Hispanic Heritage month. He is an ABC correspondent who reports for "20/20", "Nightline", "Good Morning America" and "Primetime"


Today we would like to honor Chita Rivera for Hispanic Heritage Month. She was an actress, singer and dancer. She received two Tony Awards and was the 1st hispanic woman to receive a Kennedy Center Honors award.


In honor of Hispanic Heritage month, today we would like to recognize Rebecca Lobo. She is a former professional women's basketball player and basketball analyst.


As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage month, today we acknowledge Mario Molina a physical chemist. He was one of the first to realize there was a threat Earth's ozone layer. He helped discover the Antarcitic Ozone hole in 1974. He won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1995.


Hispanic Heritage month is a special time dedicated to recognizing the culture, achievements, and contributions made by Hispanic and Latin Americans. Today we acknowledge Ellen Ochoa. She is an engineer and former astronaut and the first Lantina woman to go to space.


Bolton Elementary School will welcome Zaila Avant-Garde on September 27th. Hosted by Bookmarks, Zaila Avant-Garde is an amazing young woman with many accomplishments. She won the Scripps National Spelling Bee in 2021. She holds three basketball Guinness World Records and is a co-holder of another. She is the author of three books and will be speaking about her book, “Words Are Magic!”.


Come join us for our Title 1 Annual Meeting and School/Family Connection Classroom Visits on September 5th. The entire evening events will start at 6:00 pm and finish at 7:15 pm. K-2 scholars will share what they are currently learning in school and what they will be learning about throughout the year. Third though fifth grade scholars will share with you the learning and social goals they have set for themself for the comming school year. The classroom teachers will share their daily schedules, overall expectations and how families can support classroom instruction at home.

Summer heat getting you down? Remember to enjoy your Staycation! At the end of the school year students attended a no cost book fair where they were able to choose 3 books. This was due to a community effort between WSFCS, Bookmarks and Love Literacy. On those hot summer days let the books take you on an adventure!

The WS/FCS Transportation Department is replacing Here Comes the Bus with a new app called the Edulog Bus Portal. It is more real time and has new features that will make tracking your bus much simpler and quicker


We will start school early this year. OPEN HOUSE is Thursday, August 8th and the first day of school is Monday, August 12th! Keep in mind that the last day to request a bus stop is June 21st!


Bolton Uniforms - All scholars are to be in uniform attire Monday through Thursday. Uniform pant colors are navy blue, khaki or black. Uniform shirt colors are plan light blue, royal blue, yellow or white. Students are to be in sneakers each day. As a reminder, crocs are not allowed as this is a safety issue. No slides or flip flops. Fridays will continue to be non-uniform days, however, ripped or torn jeans, short shorts, biker shorts, spaghetti strap tops and midriffs are not allowed.
