🐾 SNOW DAY ALERT! ❄️
No school for students on Monday, February 2! But our staff will be working remotely if you need us.
In the meantime... CAN YOU GUESS WHOSE PETS THESE ARE? 🤔. And, no, they don't all love the snow (but most do). Drop your guesses in the comments on each picture.
AND WE WANT TO SEE YOUR SNOW DAY FUN TOO! Share your sledding adventures, snowmen masterpieces, and cozy pet pics - we'll be watching! 📸

While you're all cozy at home, your math teachers couldn't resist putting their measurement skills to work! 📏.
We hope you're staying safe and warm today. Maybe you're even measuring the snow in your own backyard? If so, we'd love to hear how much you got!
Stay warm and keep being awesome, Ravens! 💙

Please complete the third row of your remote learning sheet, and remember to stay safe and warm! ❄️

Our district has called for another remote learning day on Thursday, January 29! That means one more day of cozy learning from home.
📚 What to do: Students should complete the second row of tasks (Day Two) on their remote learning sheet. No technology is needed to complete these tasks.
🧊 Stay safe out there! Those icy roads and chilly temps aren't going anywhere just yet, so please keep your families warm and safe indoors. Hot cocoa and blanket forts are strongly encouraged (okay, maybe not required, but definitely recommended)!
❓ Questions? We're here to help - just reach out. Our staff directory can be found at: https://winstonsalemforsythcsnc.sites.thrillshare.com/o/efms/staff
📄 Additional copies of the remote work assignments can be found at: https://winstonsalemforsythcsnc.sites.thrillshare.com/o/efms/documents/24887583

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools has implemented a remote learning day on Wednesday, January 28. EFMS students received paper copies of their assignments on January 23; they only need to complete a single day of work to count as present on Wednesday, January 28. Work can be completed on lined paper and turned in when students return to school.
Important: To avoid confusion, all students will be completing the same tasks regardless of grade level.
Additional copies are available here: https://winstonsalemforsythcsnc.sites.thrillshare.com/o/efms/documents/24887583
These assignments are designed to be completed without printed materials or computer access. We encourage students to do their best with the work provided.
Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our students and families during this time. Please stay safe and warm.

We are thrilled to honor Mr. Orellana, an exceptional science educator in our dual language immersion program who exemplifies excellence in teaching every single day.
A colleague describes him perfectly: "an educator who believes that bilingualism is a bridge—connecting cultures, empowering students, and opening doors to a world of possibilities. In his classroom, students find their voices, gain confidence, and learn to see the world through more than one lens."
But perhaps the most powerful testament comes from his students themselves:
Muchas gracias, Sr. Orellana."
Mr. Orellana doesn't just teach science—he ignites curiosity, builds confidence, and inspires students to dream big about their futures. He creates a classroom where every student is known, valued, and empowered to succeed.
Thank you, Mr. Orellana, for your dedication, your heart, and the incredible impact you make on our students' lives every day. This recognition is so well deserved!
