At Moore Elementary School, we learn toegther, we lead together, we serve together, and TOGETHER WE ARE MOORE!

Moore School was established in 1951. The school is located off Stratford Road near the Thruway Shopping Center on Knollwood Street.

The school board designated Moore as a countywide magnet school in 1971 and the school became known as Moore Alternative School.

As part of the county's limited school choice plan implemented in 1999, Moore maintained its countywide magnet status while acquiring a residential component. Its name was changed to Moore Magnet Elementary School and the focus was on Multiple Intelligences. In 2021, the magnet focus was changed to STEAM education to be included in the district STEM/STEAM magnet pathway. From Moore Elementary, students following the magnet pathway might attend Wiley, Hanes, or Philo-Hill magnet middle schools, followed by

North Forsyth,  Atkins, or Reynolds high schools.

Moore Vision

Through STEAM Education, students work collaboratively to inquire, research, brainstorm, create, test, innovate, and share their learning in a safe environment.

Mission Statement
