WS/FCS will have a remote learning day on February 19 due to anticipated snow and sleet Wednesday. To be counted as attending school, students should complete the remote learning assignments teachers have sent home. The work is due when we return to school.

Please select a time slot for your rising Kindergarten student to be screened for elementary readiness. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0B4DA4A822ABF9CF8-54964111-kindergarten/6012411#/
During Kindergarten Screening, your child will work with one of our Kindergarten teachers (about letters, numbers, colors, etc.) for about 10 mins. The teacher will speak to you for a couple of minutes to let you know how your child performed before you leave.
Total expected time on campus: ~15-20 mins.
*You can also bring any outstanding documents for kindergarten enrollment (birth certificate, parent ID, proof of residence, immunizations, and NC Health Assessment) and we'll be happy to photocopy them for you. Students must be 5 years old on or before 08/31/2020 to enroll in Kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year.
For more information about the online New Student Enrollment process, please visit https://www.wsfcs.k12.nc.us/page/school-enrollment-information. Thank you!
¡Gracias!

We’re excited to continue celebrating Black History Month at Morgan Elementary! Last week we invited students to dress as one of their favorite African American historians, past or present. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the incredible individuals who’ve shaped our history. Let’s keep the celebration going!

Our students embraced the 12 Days of Reading Challenge over Winter break, and we couldn't be more excited to celebrate their achievements! Last week, we recognized their hard work, and some students even earned the chance to choose a new book from our book vending machine! 📚
Research shows that reading from a young age helps develop strong brains, and that's exactly what we're fostering here at Morgan Elementary. Thank you for supporting your child's reading journey!

This week, Morgan students cast their votes on who they think will take home the Super Bowl title, and the results are in! The majority of students believe the Eagles will defeat the Chiefs! 🦅
Will their prediction come true? We'll have to wait and see!

Congratulations to Ms. Faughnan, Fletcher and Sereika’s class for winning the Door Decoration Contest in celebration of African American History Month!
We will be continuing our celebration and invite students to dress as one of their favorite African American historians, whether past or present on Friday, February 14th.

We are excited to share that Brody Royall is the 2025 Human Relations Student Award winner for Morgan Elementary School! Our kindergarten students have been on a sweet adventure with The Gingerbread Man! 🦶🍪
📚 In reading, they explored and retold multiple versions of the story.
➗ In math, they graphed and tasted different gingerbread flavors.
🔬 In science, they observed and predicted what happens when a gingerbread cookie meets water.
🎨 In writing, they crafted "Lost Gingerbread Man" posters and mapped his escapades based on family updates.
Exciting twist—our Gingerbread Man was spotted on the school camera running away! Keep an eye out and help us bring him home! 🗺️✨ #GingerbreadMan #KindergartenAdventures #CreativeLearning #MorganMavericks #WSFCS
