Virtual Parent Meeting. Join us for a virtual meeting on October 21, 2025 at 5:30pm to learn tips for increasing language development at home from our school's speech language pathologists.

Join us October 25th here at The Special Children's School between 11-1 for a safe and fun Trunk or Treat. There will be a food truck, popcorn, snow cones, and cotton candy. Come see our staff dressed up and visit the book fair too.

The scholastic Book Fair will be taking place from October 20th - October 31st.

Tune in to WBFJ tomorrow morning at 7:05am to hear one of our students say the pledge of allegiance with his AAC device on the radio. He has been working so hard each day at saying the pledge for our class, and now he can share it with all of Winston Salem on the radio. WBFJ (radio station 89.3FM) will play the recording at 7:05am and again at 9:30am. We are so proud of our student and thankful for this opportunity! Please show your support by tuning in and listening at 7:05 am and 9:30 am!

Just to be cautious with the forecast of possible inclement weather, we are rescheduling the PTO meeting on Preschool to Kindergarten Transitions planned for Tuesday evening this week. The meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 25, at 5:30.

We celebrated the 100th day of school!! Look at us count to 100! What an amazing year it has been already.

On February 13, 2025, The Special Children's School will be hosting an Open House for rising kindergarten students. New families are welcome to stop by between 8-12 and explore our kindergarten classroom. We will also be offering tours of our school. Weather Update: WS/FCS Closed January 7 Amanda Lehmert January 6, 2025 Due to expected freezing temperatures overnight, and a slippery commute for buses, students drivers, families, and employees, , WS/FCS will be closed to staff and students , Tuesday, January 7. Based on current conditions, a delayed start will not help which is why the closure has been called.
