Due to predicted high wind gusts and the potential for flash flooding and tornadoes from Hurricane Helene during student and staff arrivals in the morning, WS/FCS will be closed for students and staff on Friday, September 27. Although the weather is predicted to improve in the afternoon, all extracurricular activities will also be cancelled on Friday to give us time to assess facility conditions.

Traffic pattern: We recommend not turning left from Doncaster onto Yorkshire. Instead use Pennington for the back rider area or turn right and drop off at the office area.
• In the AM, students can be dropped off at either car rider area, if it is more convenient. We have staff and 5th grade safety patrols stationed throughout the school and drop off areas to assist students safely to class.
• In the PM, students/families must go to the designed area of the youngest sibling, (1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th by office area) and (K, 2nd and EC in the back)
• PM car rider lines are finishing in about 20 minutes and bus times are improving. We appreciate your patience and focus on safety.
• Our staff needs every parking spot in the mornings. Please do not take up a spot for our staff members waiting for 7:50 drop off time.
• Students and adults should always use the crosswalk area when available for arrival and dismissal on campus and in the neighborhood.
• Walkers live.5 miles or less (will not receive bus transportation) from the school and should walk directly home or be met at the corner of Doncaster/Yorkshire. Parking on the street should not occur.
• Thank you to the PM back car rider drivers for waiting until 2:20 so all students can safely use the crosswalk from the playground and 5th grade class.

The deadline for state-required immunizations and health assessments for students is coming up fast, and for families still looking to finish their wellness checklists, Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools has resources available to help.
