Wiley Magnet Middle School is proud to host ArtistCorps from UNCSA as an artist-in-residence, bringing music and creative arts experiences directly to our students. Through hands-on musical learning, students have opportunities to explore creativity, develop their artistic skills, and connect classroom learning to the arts—further strengthening Wiley’s STEAM experience.

Wiley Middle School Athletics has a busy week ahead! Students will participate in Cross Country, Soccer, Baseball, and Softball practices and events from August 31–September 4, with most activities running 3:00–4:30 PM. The Cross Country Pre-Season Meet will be held Tuesday at Ivey Redmond. Times are subject to change.

The Wiley Family Organization (WFO) brings together families, staff, and community members to support students and strengthen the Wiley school community. The first meeting of the 2026–27 school year is an opportunity for families to connect, share ideas, and learn how they can get involved. All families are welcome, and every voice can make a difference in making this a successful school year for Wiley students.

Wiley Magnet Middle School’s 8th Grade Class Trip to Washington, D.C. is March 3–5, 2027. Students will visit monuments, museums, and historic sites while learning and building memories with classmates.
Interest Meeting: Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 5:30 PM in the Wiley Gym. Details about cost, payment plans, and the itinerary will be shared.

Imprints Cares After-School Care will host an Interest Meeting on Wednesday, August 19 at 6:00 PM in the Wiley Media Center. The program will be staffed by Wiley’s own teachers and provide a safe, supportive, and enriching after-school experience.

Wiley Magnet Middle School sports tryouts will be held August 17–20 from 3:00–4:30 PM.
Monday: Cross Country, Softball & Boys Soccer
Tuesday–Thursday: Baseball, Soccer, Softball & Cross Country
Friday: No sports
Students should plan accordingly and attend the appropriate tryout for their sport.

Wiley Magnet Middle School is seeking a baseball coach to lead, inspire, and build champions while making a positive impact on student-athletes. Interested candidates are encouraged to join the team and help shape the future of Wiley Wolverines.

Parents and students can use DragonFly Max to create an account, connect to their school, and complete required participation forms. Coaches, athletic directors, and school administrators can also create accounts to manage school athletics and approve access.

It's time to get ready for another exciting school year! To help students start the year prepared for success, the 2026–2027 WS/FCS School Supply Lists are now available in both English and Spanish.
The supply lists provide general materials needed for middle and high school students. Please note that some teachers may request additional course-specific items once school begins.
We encourage families to purchase supplies early to ensure students are equipped with the tools they need for a successful first day of school.

The event will be held at 1400 W. Northwest Blvd., Winston-Salem, NC 27104. The flyer highlights Wiley's commitment to innovation with the message "STEAM is SEEN!" and welcomes all families to experience what makes Wiley Magnet Middle School a great place to learn and grow.

Back-to-School Transportation Information: Families needing bus transportation should contact their child's school if a bus stop is not already assigned in the Parent Portal. New transportation requests will begin processing in September, and students must receive a boarding pass before riding the bus. Families are encouraged to download the Edulog Bus App to access their student's bus route and stop information. Information is available in both English and Spanish.

Eligibility Requirements:
Students must have:
A current sports physical
Passing grades
Good behavior that meets athletic eligibility requirements
Families are encouraged to attend the Open House Meet the Coaches event on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. to meet the coaching staff and learn more about the athletic program.

Students will have the opportunity to visit world-renowned Smithsonian museums, explore historic monuments and memorials, tour the U.S. Capitol, and experience many of our nation's most important landmarks. This trip is designed to enhance classroom learning while creating lasting memories with classmates and teachers.
The approximate cost of the trip is $475. Payment plans and fundraising opportunities will be available to help make participation accessible for all interested students.
