A message from the PTA: Welcome to April! April 1 - 11th Our first PTA Boosterthon Fun Run fundraiser kicked off yesterday! The PTA has set a goal of raising $5,000 for the purchase of a NEW Brunson Bobcat mascot. Students will be able to earn rewards and prizes for their donations. Lilly Long , a 5th grader in Ms. Coles' class, was honored with the highest level possible at the State Science Fair for her project "Not so Basic pHenomenon: Investigating Acidity in Sourdough." Congratulations to Lilly!!

Yesterday, William Electric Black, aka Ian Ellis James, a seven-time Emmy Award winning writer for his work on Sesame Street and current faculty member of NYU's Tisch School visited our kindergarten students as part of a collaboration with the Wake Forest Center for Literacy Education, the WS Police Department, and WS/FCS. He read his book A Gun is Not Fun to speak about the dangers of guns. The WS PD Operation Sweet Reads Vehicle came to share a sweet treat after.

Brunson welcomed North Carolina's First Lady, Anna Stein, to kick off Read Across America! Mrs. Stein is a former Brunson student. She read to Mrs. Harvey's kindergarten class before touring her old stomping grounds! Dr. Scales presented her with some Brunson goodies to remember us by! Read Across America Spirit Week is next week!!!

Congratulations to Lilly Long, winner of the highest award at the Regional Science Fair back on February 15 . She was selected to move on to the State Science Fair. Lilly is a 5th grader in Ms. Cole's class!

The Book Fair is coming!

There was a monumental event this morning as the district held the New Brunson ground breaking ceremony! County commissioners, community representatives, board of education members, district staff, Brunson staff, and Brunson students all participated! #wearecrew

Brunson was represented by three fifth graders at the WS/FCS All-County Chorus concert at Reynolds Auditorium last week. Congratulations to Vera Triana, Ian White, and Sayde Kindell!
