What does it feel like to build a shelter with limited resources? Some of our EFMS Ravens found out firsthand! Inspired by Alan Gratz's historical fiction novel Refugee, language arts classes who selected to participate in the grade level project headed to the Learning Commons last week to think critically and create collaboratively — designing family shelters using only shared tools and limited materials. Learning that goes beyond the page! #EFMSRavens #MakerSpace #ProjectBasedLearning

Is your family eligible for free groceries this summer?

Our school wants to make sure every family knows about SUN Bucks — a grocery benefits program that provides support to eligible families with school-aged children during the summer months. Eligible students receive a one-time payment loaded onto an EBT card, which can be used at grocery stores, farmers markets, and select online retailers.

The deadline to update your address and household information is March 31 — don't miss it!
If you have questions or need assistance, please reach out through one of the following:

This week, our SAVE Promise Club is shining a light on something important. 💙

It's Say Something Week (March 23–27) — a nationwide celebration of students, teachers, and community members who make schools safer just by showing up for each other.

Being an Upstander doesn't have to mean doing something big. Sometimes it's noticing when a friend seems off, telling a Trusted Adult, or using our school's anonymous reporting system to share a concern.

We're proud to be part of this movement.🌟

This week, we're putting the spotlight on our phenomenal Math teachers at East Forsyth Middle School! 🐦‍⬛

Our Math team doesn't just teach numbers — they're constantly refining their craft, pushing themselves to grow right alongside our Ravens. They help students set meaningful goals, track their progress, and celebrate every step forward — because here, growth matters just as much as the grade.

To our Math team — thank you for proving that with the right mindset, every problem has a solution! 💪

🏫During #PublicSchoolsWeek, we want to take a moment to celebrate the heartbeat of our school community — our Encore teachers! 💙

Behind every student who discovers a love of painting, masters a new language, builds something with their own hands, learns to cook a meal, plays their first song, or runs their first mile is a dedicated Encore educator cheering them on.

Our Art, Music, PE, Foreign Language, CTE, and FACS teachers enrich our students' education in ways that last a lifetime. We are so grateful for your dedication, creativity, and heart.

Please join us in thanking these amazing educators this week and every week! 👏

📚 This Public Schools Week, we want to take a moment to honor the ELA teachers who make East Forsyth Middle School a place where Ravens SOAR. 🐦‍⬛

You teach our students more than reading and writing — you teach them empathy, critical thinking, and the courage to express themselves. The impact you make goes far beyond the classroom walls, and we are so grateful for everything you do. 💙🖤

🏫 Today, during #PublicSchoolsWeek, we're shouting out our amazing Social Studies teachers! 🌍

From our dual language classrooms where students explore history, culture, geography, and civics in two languages, to lessons rooted right here in our own community — our social studies teachers make the world come alive for every student.

They don't just teach history. They help students see themselves IN it. Thank you for all you do to make our public school amazing. 🙌

Mr. Leath, Ms. Baker, Ms. Hines, Mr. Beaver, Mr. Orellana, Ms. Justus, and Mr. Gonnella are consistently going above and beyond to build young scientists. From producing outstanding academic results, to offering unique learning experiences for all of our students, to stepping up for one another when it matters most — this team does it all.
